Wedding guest transport

New Forest wedding transport

We do not supply the car with the ribbons on it. We move everybody else — guests to the venue, guests back to their hotels at midnight, and the airport runs at both ends of the weekend. All of it quoted as one job rather than a dozen separate bookings.

Based in Brockenhurst, covering the New Forest

1 Sutton Place, Brockenhurst. We collect from every village in the forest, not just the base.

Licensed private hire operator

Licence 225, held by King Transfer, issued by New Forest District Council.

DBS checked drivers

Drivers are licensed by the council and enhanced DBS checked as a condition of that licence.

Fully insured

Private hire insurance is held on the vehicles we operate.

11+ active vehicles

Saloons, estates and six seaters, so a group booking does not usually depend on one car being free.

Send the whole day, not one journey

A New Forest wedding almost never needs one car. It needs guests brought from three or four hotels, a run for the people who cannot drive back, and often an airport leg for the relatives who flew in. Those movements interact: the same vehicle can do two of them if the timings are known in advance, and cannot do either if they are not.

So send the list. Pickup points, times, passenger numbers, in one message. We will come back with the vehicle allocation and one price for the lot. Quoting the movements together lets us share vehicles between them, which usually works out better than pricing each journey blind — and booking ahead is the only way to hold cars for 23:30 on a Saturday in August.

Venues, lanes and the getting-there problem

Rhinefield House, Careys Manor, Balmer Lawn, the Beaulieu venues and Buckler's Hard are the well-known ones, and they are straightforward. The barns and country houses are where the planning earns its keep: unmarked entrances, single track approaches, and satnav that stops confidently at the end of the wrong lane.

Ponies and cattle have right of way on the unfenced roads and routinely slow the run between Brockenhurst, Burley and Bolderwood. Our timings assume it. A driver arriving from outside the area at 17:45 for a 18:00 pickup does not.

Guests flying in

This is the part that gets left until last and should not be. Guests landing at Heathrow or Gatwick are roughly an hour and three quarters from the forest, and there is no simple public transport answer once they are off the train at Brockenhurst with a suitcase and a suit carrier.

Book the inbound transfers at the same time as the wedding day. Give us the flight numbers and we will time the pickups from the landings rather than the schedule.

Groups of any size

Saloons, estates and six seaters across 11+ vehicles, allocated around the group rather than one car at a time.

Late returns held

Pre-booked means the vehicle is yours at the time agreed, including the hours no app will cover.

One quote, in writing

Wedding transport questions

Do you provide the wedding car for the couple?

No. We are a private hire operator, not a wedding car hire company — there is no vintage Rolls, no ribbons and no chauffeur in a peaked cap. What we do is move everybody else: guests to the venue, guests back to their hotels, and the airport runs at either end of the weekend.

Can you quote several pickups as one booking?

Yes, and it is the sensible way to do it. Send the full list — pickup points, times and passenger numbers — in one message and we will work out the vehicle allocation across the whole group. Quoting each journey blind usually produces a worse answer and a higher total.

How late can you collect from a venue?

Late. Wedding work is a large part of why we run pre-booked journeys at hours no on-demand app will cover. Agree the return times when you book — including the realistic one rather than the optimistic one — and the vehicles are held for you.

Can you collect guests from the airport before the wedding?

Yes, and this is often the part that gets forgotten. Guests flying in to Heathrow, Gatwick or Southampton need a transfer to their accommodation, and the New Forest is not a place you can improvise that from on arrival. Book the inbound legs at the same time as the wedding day itself.

Which venues do you cover?

All of them in the New Forest and around its edges — Rhinefield House, Careys Manor, Balmer Lawn, the Beaulieu venues, Buckler's Hard, and the smaller barns and country houses that do not appear on any list. If your venue is down an unmarked lane, tell us the property name as well as the postcode.
